During 1989-1994 in New York, In his five years of lectures on world literary history (presented in Literary Memoir), Mu Xin spoke about more than one hundred scholars, thinkers, philosophers, and artists from Ancient Greece to the 20th century to a group of Chinese artists living in New York. The museum will organize special exhibitions presenting a selection of the important literature masters and artists he mentioned in these lectures who have made significant impact to his art creation. The previous exhibitions held by our art museum are as follows: “Lin Fengmian and Mu Xin” and “Nietzsche and Mu Xin” (in 2015); “William Shakespeare/Tang Xianzu” (in 2016); “In Mu Xin’s Words: Treasures of the British Library” and “Tower within a Tower: Mu Xin's Prison Notes and facsimiles of his paintings in the Yale collection” (in 2017); “Persian Poem Manuscripts” (in 2018); “My uncle in literature: Balzac” (in 2019); “ Henri Michaux & Mu Xin” (in 2020); “My Brilliant Friend : When Literature Appears on Screen” (in 2021); “My Brilliant Friend Season 3 : When Literature Appears on Screen” and “Slumbering Stones at a Quiet Pond——Exhibition marking the 95th anniversary of Mr. Mu Xin's birth” (in 2022); “Lu Xun Coming to Wuzhen” and“Leo Tolstoy in the eyes of Ilya Repin” (in 2023); “Ode To Shanghai Films Photographies Paintings 1934-2024” (in 2024). “Chopin’s Heart” (in 2025) The series of special exhibitions will continue to be held with the cooperation of cultural institutions and noted artists’ homes from countries around the world.
